COMPLYING WITH RELOCATION REQUIREMENTS FOR CAPITAL FUND WORK
Sometimes modernization may require persons to be displaced from their dwellings for only a short period of time. Although temporarily displaced persons do not receive the same relocation assistance and payments as persons permanently displaced under the URA, they do have certain rights and protections. This course covers the process, notices and payments required by HUD for temporary relocation.

UNDERSTANDING PROCUREMENT METHODS, STRATEGIES AND CONTRACT TYPES THAT CAN SAVE YOU MONEY
There are many procurement methods, strategies and contract types allowed by HUD. Learn how to use these to save your agency money and ease the stress on your budgets. This course is useful whether you have a centralized or AMP-based procurement system.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR AGENCY’S OBLIGATION TO COMPLY WITH 504 ACCESSIBILITY LAWS AND REGULATIONS
Recently HUD reminded housing authorities of their obligation to comply with pertinent laws and implementing regulations which mandate non-discrimination and accessibility in public housing for persons with disabilities and emphasized the importance of compliance. Regulations governing the Capital Fund at 24 CFR 968 require compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements prohibiting discrimination against persons with disabilities. PHAs must ensure that all work is in compliance with these requirements in conducting Capital Fund activities. This course focuses on alterations to existing housing and the technical requirements of the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS) and departures from the technical and scoping requirements that are permitted by HUD.

What Our Clients Say

All larger PHAs who use or consider using Force Account or HUD FM persons who work with PHAs who use Force Account should attend BTI's Force Account Management for Construction Training. It's an excellent course.

I feel comfortable because of the positive attitude from the trainer.

The most useful information that I received was actual HUD guidance, forms and instructions. Up to now all I have heard is "because HUD says to!"

(I) really liked the lecture - question, answer process rather than the usual group exercise so prevalent in training.

BTI stays up to date on Federal Notices and the Federal Register. It makes my job easier!

Entire process very helpful - Trainer extremely knowledgeable in field. Forms will be helpful in improving office practice.

I felt it was a very good learning course due to the field experience of the instructor.

The overall process (Construction Administration) is much clearer and more comprehensive than expected.
